Takaji My Relatives
I would like to take this opportunity upon the anniversary of the birthday of my biological sister Consuelo Beck-Sague, September 19 to briefly honor her for a lifetime devoted to the welfare of her fellow humans within her capacity as a medical doctor specializing in pediatric medicine and communicable diseases.
My sister's career is an exemplary journey in search for solutions to some of the most destructive ailments that harm and kill children all over the world every day. This background info page in the faculty section of the FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY website approaches but by no means fully describes the life-long devotion of this inspired Cuban Taina.
Consuelo retired from the CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL in Atlanta several years ago and almost immediately moved to one of the most poverty-stricken regions of the Dominican Republic where she spent several years in semi-voluntary work at a family clinic program within which she battled communicable diseases daily which regularly devastate women and children in that country.
In this edited excerpt from a Dominican newspaper article, Consuelo and her husband Andy are honored for their selfless devotion to their work in that country.
A beautiful soul inside and out, my sister is not only a devoted physician but also an artist and musician who fills with joy other people's lives with her music and paintings.
I love you Consuelo and I know that the world is a better place because you are in it.
What a beautiful woman and such a beautiful soul! Consuelo is truly an amazing, beautiful woman, inside and out... a real credit to her family, especially her mother who is obviously her namesake, but this comes as no surprise since Miguel is also such a beautiful being as well, along with his son and the rest of the family. May she continue to be a light of hope and inspiration to many...
We wish you a very Happy Birthday, Consuelo! May your special day and all the days that follow be full of love, joy, peace, health, happiness, prosperity, abundance, and many, many blessings for you and all your loved ones! Hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day with your loved ones around you! You truly deserve it!
May YaYa and the Ancestors continue to Bless, Guide, Protect and Sustain you, your work and all your loved ones, now and always...
Love, Hugs & Blessings,
Joanna (Aya) & Family
