This research work proposes that the high place in the central region of the island known by the name "Mountain Cemi" is likely to have represented the mythological place called "Canta" in the chronicles of Ramon Pane. Canta was the primordial mountain that contained the ancestral cave Cacibajagua from which the ancient Tainos are reputed to have originally emerged
