I’m from the island of Saint Martin aka Soualiga, island of salt, at the north of the Lesser Antilles. I’m a true Caribbean mix up a little bit of every thing. I’m passionate by Caribbean history in general but I really focusing on the indigenous cause concerning our islands (north lesser island) there is so little left and known about the first inhabitants. there for, I’m trying my best to find out as much as I can about the different indigenous groups there way of living there mythology, beliefs, symbolism in order to extrapolate for my own homeland. Soualiga is a very small island and the indigenous weren’t present there any more when the island got really colonized. I’m actually participating in archeological excavations as volunteer with the archeological association hope estate in st martin. this association also have a museum” on the trail of the arawaks. I’m a visual artist and the history of my island is the backbone of my art and my artistic identity is truly influenced by my fascination for the indigenous people of the Caribbeans.

I hope the archeological digs will unearth some new information on our ancestors who moved through the islands. I think there was a close association between (Malliouhana) Anguilla and (Soualiga)St.Martin even back then when the inhabitants of these islands travelled to and from other islands and were visited by the Tiano of (Borika) Peurto Rico and the Kalinago of (Wai'tukubuli) Dominica regularly.
