Right now I am focusing my costumes on the Carnival aspects of the islands, but in learning this art from my Trindad friends, I have come much closer to my own Puerto Rican heritage and culture. I've been taking what I learn and have been teaching my American born Puerto Ricans about our heritage so that it is not lost.
