Does anyone know of Lucayan Taino archeaological sites that are opened for visitors? I am thinking of going on my honeymoon to the north Caribbean and would love to see Lucayan artifacts and culture while I am there.
I was aware that the Lucayan population in these islands had been overshodowed by african slaves brought in by the British. Still there should be archaeological finds for their culture there. I was reading an article a few years back that a Lucayan village was discovered in the Bahamas and there was some legal battle over it. Developers wanted to build a hotel over it and local laws do not prohibit prohibit the destruction of landmarks with historical value. I do not know what the end of that case was.
