The ancient Tainos developed a highly advanced weaving technique which evidently utilized only the use of one or two knitting needles to create extraordinary fabrics that impressed even the early European chroniclers who had the opportunity to inspect their fabrics. Please click on this LINK to download a remarkably well-researched study of the best preserved cotton-fabric object to have survived the 500 years-plus that have elapsed since its creation. Wow!  What an amazing article!  Our Ancestors did doll-making!  Like actually making dolls with armature and everything!  Holy cajoles! I'm floored! Thanks again for sharing. I'll be re-reading this...

As for my own work... I make and decorate much of my tools and they are pretty beat up :) I made my warm stuffs for Moondance including hand warmers, bags, hats...I even made my own ankle rattles and made them double duty so they are leg warmers, too.

The rest I tend to give away. Especially the dolls... Here is Tommy. He's a tatooing, traveling turle. Here are some pics of his last trip to Borinken :)

This is one of my favorite Ancient figures.

I crochet and have made a couple of crochet dolls. I've also crocheted around objects, which is probably how you would croche around a skull. I don't knit, but I know there is a knitting tool that is circular.... Wow! It blows my mind that our Ancestors knitted!

I look forward to reading this article. Thanks for sharing.
