I just wanted to take this time to say "kitchi-meegwetch" for your hospitality in letting us crash at your house on our first night. I also want to say again, what an honor it was for me and my family to meet you with your teachings and leadership as a Taino women who bought all other nations together in this beautiful ceremony we had for the 8, 000 drums gathering. I know it takes alot of commitment and time to put something like this together. Many blessings will come your way for the Grandmothers and the Grandfathers are watching over us each day that work with our Creator.
Please i extend my gratitude to your husband and others who set this up. Overall, the benefits were greater thru prayers and having new friends i will cherish in my heart. Thank you so much for helping and letting my fiance be part of the ceremony as a Helper.
Elder's Meditation of the Day - March 19
"There's a deep wound in people-that they have been so cut off from the source of their being, their mother, their Earth Mother."
--Francis Story Talbott II (Medicine Story), WAMPANOAG
When we are connected to the Earth Mother, or when we are clear on our purpose, we will feel connected and safe. We will feel love. When we are disconnected from the Earth Mother, or we don't know who we are or why we are, we will feel pain. It will be similar to a little child who has lost its Mother. We will hurt inside-we will be wounded within. If this happens to the whole community, the people will be very sad and lost. It will seem like there is death in the air. When this happens, it is time for ceremony and reconnection to God and Mother Earth. This is the time of prayer.
Great Mystery, today, help me to stay connected to the Earth and to You, my Creator
Your page resonates, I love seeing old pics of Tainos in the resurgance movement.
When & where were they taken ?
Ive been in the resurgence movement for 15 years now. I know Brother Mucaro for all that time. I've pow wowed across the east coast and participate as a Taino specializing in siver smithing and embroidery.
