Hi Max, to answer your question. I have never been mistaken for maori by the locals but sometimes I have been by visitors to NZ. I am an avid football player and making friends in those circles is easy but out of those circles I find the Maori more group focused. Pakeha tend to be more individualistic and this is of course generalising. For example on work sites I find that Maori is more curious to know where I am from than the Pakeha, and they would invite me to join them for lunch where as the Pakeha wouldn't ask me to partake. Subtleties that can easily be missed. Thanks for asking the question, I wouldn't have thought of it.

Greetings: Thank you for adding me as one of your friends.I'm proud to mention that finally and officially I'm a member of the Taino ( Arawak) family. All along I knew that my grandmother Maria was part of it also. It has been my honor and priviledge to be with her all my childhood, I grew up in the west coast of Puerto Rico in a little town call BORINQUEN. Many times I sat down to recall the memories how she lived, how she taugh me and all the good memories brings me a smile. From the cooking procedures to the healing procedures, but those are memories that I will always keep in my journal and mind. My website is www.drianabuonanducci.com.. Thanks again.

In the meantime, when I ask for constructive inputs, what do I get in response?
That I am "sarcastic" and "pompous." Orocobia, you might want to look at that for a better sense of balance than you currently have...and see the comment below.

Hold on...I was merely reproducing the very negative and disheartened comments I received from a few dozen members, in the space of two days, complaining about the low level of discourse, the animosity, and stating they were ready to drop the network, including a lot of serious people who have contributed a lot. Optimism is one thing, but you don't ignore such facts without disrespecting the same people you yourself would praise for their scholarly integrity (an issue I addressed on your board).

As for commenting on "people's intelligences", I don't know why you are pluralizing. I do reserve the right to defend myself against attacks. If I don't, who will? Will you? So it is very wrong and unfair to try to disarm someone who is the recipient of the attacks in the first place. I don't understand what kind of value you see in endorsing such a position, and I wonder if you would hold yourself to that same kind of standard. Personally, I think it is unreasonable.

The rest I left as a comment on your board.
