The Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle, a spiritual community that bases its tradition on the spiritual customs of the ancient Taino people of the Caribbean region, celebrates monthly ceremonies at various sites of the northern hemisphere, including Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York etc. During that ceremony a woman is chosen to represent the chief female spirit of the tainos ATABEY and to utter the sacred words of the ceremony "We women have within us the rhythm of the Universe, ever constant and steady the twenty eight day cycle of Life"
