Our Taino Spiritual movement was busy this summer

After our wonderful Summer Solstice Ceremony in Youngstown, Ohio the Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle leadership added our prayers and encouragement to the wonderful effort in Boriken of this year's Journeys of Peace and Dignity. This magnificent effort was primarily spearheaded by organizations guided by our sister Vanessa Inaru, and also by the United Confederation of Taino People and the Consejo General de Tainos Boricanos.

Later in the summer I participated in two annually celebrated alternate spirituality and metaphysical summer festivals in Ohio and New York States. I represented our Caney Circle and the Taino spiritual tradition at these events, offering workshops and presentations on the topic of Taino shamanism and doing readings that use the Taino shamanic divination technique of casting of sea-shells. I also offered presentations in the topic of the Maya Calendar 2012 Prophecy that is part of the tradition of our Central American brothers and sisters.

Then in August I had the honor of hosting a Taino sister from the Dominican Republic here at our Pittsburgh-based Council Of Three Rivers American Indian Center for her VISION QUEST

Maritza shared with us that her experience here was a wonderfully stimulating one for her.

I spent much of the rest of the summer participating in local Pittsburgh-based metaphysical fairs and events such as the Oneness Spirit Fair

At these events also I offered Taino shell readings.

We celebrated Fall Equinox during the Pittsburgh, PA-based COUNCIL OF THREE RIVERS AMERICAN INDIAN CENTER Pow Wow which was MCEE'd by my sister Rosa and her husband Melvin.

During the celebration I assisted my associate Antonio Aj Ik with a traditional k'iche Maya Fire Ceremony.

By early October Antonio and I travelled north to the Buffalo. New York area and we conducted presentations on the Maya-Taino connection and the 2012 Prophecy at the Gifts of Gaia store and elsewhere. I assisted Antono in the leading of traditional K'iche Maya fire ceremonies there.

In the meantime I have been leading Taino kansi-guanara sweatlodge ceremonies at my home, the Caney Circle Verona Teaching Lodge.

It has been a very eventful summer and early Fall, and I look forward to a lot more beautiful connecting with the spirit of Mother Earth and Father Sky with our brothers and sisters here at home and around the country.
