The first place that the European invader experienced tobacco was in the Caribbean. That is why the Taino word "tabako" became the world-recognized word for this sacred plant.

I agree. I remember learning that there are certain tribes throughout Turtle Island that hold and protect specific medicines and its medicinal properties that we all have been given the responsibility to protect and foresee. Tabako was the medicine of our People's responsibility.
