THE LOST TAINO TRIBE

The Lost Taino Tribe documentary explores all angles about a very complex issue - Taino history and the Puerto Rican identity. A documentary being created from the input of the global community.

    Hello Everybody,

Thanks for supporting this group. I hope to share with you - so that you can share with me in the production of this documentary. This story is big- no huge and it can't be done without your help.

On the week of May 18 I will be in New York to begin filming for a trailer for the documentary. The trailer is an important tool in my trade today because it gives a glimps to pontential funders what they are investing in.

Today it is not enough to just make a movie. It has to have a strong community outreach and educational component. Again, that's where you come in - you are the "experts" and quite frankly you are the "first" supporters and audience.

Our mission is not so much to preach to the choir - the rest of the world needs to get in on this because the Taino story is the universal story about what is at stake here.

And I leave you all with that one question, "What is at stake here?"

    takahi, Nitou.
Sorry, I haven't been checking in, being busy is no excuse, be it the truth. I am the UCTP liason in Ohio and the lost tribe I've found, is those who are afraid of acknowledging their heritage.Oma'bahari, Xochitl Ana O Quinones

    Hola,

This is my first posting. Is this group this active?

  • Sonte Myers

I hope so! This is mine as well.
  • Miguel Sague Jr

As long as there are brothers and sisters like yourselves that are willing to share here this group will remain active. The LostTainoTribe is an ongoing endeavor which continues to progress.

Hi Miguel (along with anyone else)-

I was wondering if you were familiar with any concentrated areas of Taino people where I could learn our language. I hope upon graduation of college to travel and connect with my people so I can pass on our culture.
