    hey bro,
    the message I left can be translated;
"I am a common man, born from the earth, with a special place between heaven and earth, wishing to walk this road of life as a decent member of the Human Being Tribe".
I heard an elder introduce himself this way and really liked it.
Give your tribe a big hug for me.

    Hi Guy

That picture is a beautiful view! I have to plan a trip in that area. I am doing Social Work 2 at University of Guyana IDCE. I am in the process of doing some research on my roots. My sister Karen Zammett with her family lives in Annai. Brian invited me too to visit. I am still collecting books to send to the library.

    hey Guy,
in st.ignatius my uncles Bernard and John Simon, my aunt Lorna Ambrose...she's a nurse at the local hospital - all their extended family of course. In Annai only Dixon Jacobs and his family - Tecla Simon used to live in Annai too but has now moved to Lethem.
My family in Raposa are not actually in the town itself and its I do not have direct contact with them. My Mum who lives in Lethem visits them once a year and there are always relatives who travel from Tipuru through the Brazilian side to get to Lethem...visiting relatives on the way. I speak to my mum each weekend....but I have not heard anything about them so far. But you know...the shooting also happens on the Guyanese side (Brazilians crossing over and taking advantage of the Amerindians). I am a memeber of Survival international...we get info from them from that part of the world.
Karasabai is between 8 to 12 hours walk from Tipuru depending on the party - if kids are involved. Tiger pond - My aunt Maggie Simon used to be the headmistress for years there...she now lives in Mabaruma. I visited Tiger Pond a number of times when I was a kid but I do not know many people there.
we are supposed to travel into Tipuru the last time we went back but due to my kids getting sick and the rainy season it was not possible. in 2010 we will go there. there is supposed to be a road but its affecting the locals terribly in that during the rainy season it gets bad and stagnant and obviously is terrible to walk in. The last I heard from my cousin who visited my mum in Lethem...many truck drivers now spend time in the village and do not treat them very well....
I do know Rudolf and Maureen by site only. I was more in touch with Alex Ambrose - was married to Lorna.

all for now....got to have some sleep before sitting down to an online test...

Hi Guy. We've met, haven't we? Am I right that you worked for Project Fauna at one time?

My dissertation deals mainly with the Akawaio. I Have not published anything on the Makushi yet. But you are certainly welcome to a copy. Is there anyone that you know that is traveling from GT down your way soon that I could send a copy with? Alternatively, I can e-mail you an attached file (Word or Adobe document) that you could then store on CD or have printed. Let me know.

Another idea, I could see if Jeff Luzar (with Project Fauna) could carry you a copy at some point (don't know how long that would take... I hear rumours he'll be in Georgetown in February, but when he'll be in Katoka after that i don't know).

Good luck with the library. Its a great idea!

Yes. Harold died and the funeral will be on Friday. It was rather sudden. He died in Boa Vista.
I am currently at Bina Hill but will go to attend the funeral.
    Care yourself.

    Hello GuY:
I have been delinquent in publishing. I am trying to complete the final editing and get it to the printers bythe end of this month. Hope to do a launching in St. Lucia by the end of February'09. I will keep my friends on indigenouscaribbean updated. This is really long overdue.
