About Me:
Born in South Florida (South Beach), relocated to upstate New York then RE located back to Florida in 1973. I have worked in the VA Hospital in Miami, and most of the HIV/AIDS CBOs from the Miami area since the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic (1983). I then began to work at the Broward County Health Department in 1999 in the AIDS Program Office. I graduated in 2005 with a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from Barry University. In 2006, I moved to Tallahassee and assumed a new position in the HIV/AIDS Surveillance Reporting Unit. Most recently in 8/2017 I left the HIV/AIDS unit and am now working in the TB Unit as the Inter jurisdictional Program Coordinator for the state of Florida. I live with my cats and my Timber-wolf/Siberian Husky mix, Tanaka. I attend Native American events when possible, I am into the PRE FUR TRADE reenacting time period (1840's) I own my own food truck (my retirement plan) Island Pound Hounds/Cocina Criolla. I love the outdoors, nature, animals, connecting with my Taino roots, some good Salsa music and when I get excited I tend to talk real fast in Spanish!
