About Me:
her name means Hummingbird. The tiny bird so small that could sit on a dime yet so significant that for her people.

It is a sacred symbol for the Taino Indians. It is sacred
because the hummingbird is a pollinator and therefore disseminator of
new life. It symbolizes the rebirth of the Taino Indigenous Nation in
the Caribbean.

The bird is found on many Caribbean islands, but the most sacred
species is the Guani, which 500 years ago inhabited all the islands,
but today is confined to Cuba. Although the smallest of the Caribbean
hummingbirds, only about the size of a penny, it is known by the
mountain people as the most noble warrior of the valiant Kolibris. In
the Caribbean the Lolibri is also called Zoom Zoom, Zumbador, Pajaro
Mosca and Guacariga. It is greenish blue in color. The ancient Taino
stories call him the Guaracacigaba or Guacariga, which means
the "Rays of the Sun." They say that the Kolibris at one time were
flies that were one day converted into little birds by the Sun
Father.
she was born in the island her people call Boriken. She is a descendant of the Caribe and Taino natives from the Antilles.

A Native American Dancer, loves to write poetry and short stories. Earth Mother of the North Eastern Native American Association. Elder of Maisiti Yukayeke Taino.

Her love for music started when she was months old. She still sings with her sisters at parties and bistros. she taught her daughters to sing and sings with them when there is ocassion to do so. she studied music and voice in college and her life without music is like a body without a soul. Based on her Mother, Grandmother, Grand aunt and greatgrandmother, she sang in the womb of her mother when her mother was 7 months pregnant. Very hard to believe but who is going to argue with 3 Native women?

She loves nature, animals more than people, wolves are her favorite since she is known to walk with a white wolf.

She loves to travel, has been to Europe and Africa, Canada among other places, and when home loves to create dishes that tempt any discriminating palate.

I consider myself truly blessed to know the people I know and to have the people who truly know me!!! Anyone could come up with an opinion about the "Thanksgiving" Holiday now upon us because of our Indigenous roots, but I will say the following in this season regardless of what this Holiday historically means to so many Native people: I will cast aside all historical offense and all present day offense to say that I am truly blessed by the Creator of this Universe tohave experieced all I have in this life and grateful for EVERY PERSON I've encountered in my life that has shown me either a positive or negative experience in my life, because I've learned so much from them. I am also thankful for ALL the people that I've encountered in my life who have spoken either positively, or gossiped negatively about me behind my back, because they've shown m e who is truly on my side, and who's against me!!! I'm even thankful for those who have spoken against me beind my back, because they've shown me that I am at east 2 steps ahead of them and on the right track!!! On this holiday of "THANKSGIVING" I'm thankful for all that has happened to me because it has shown me what path to take and will show me the path I will take. I can truly say even in the face of adversity; "I AM TRULY BLESSED"
