    Welcome to the network Ronald

Its wonderful to have you here! I have heard of the recently instituted initiatives at the Smithsonian by the Smithsonian Latino Center and others concerning the use of the extensive Taino collectionat the ATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN to Focus on the Indigenous experience past and present in the Caribbean. Obviously this is of enormous importance to many here in ICN and we are happy to know that we may have in you a direct source of information on these topics.

Please do not hesitate to either post any information you may deem of interest to us in your own blog or discussion group or in any of the ones that already exist here. I myself represent elements of the Taino spiritual community, people to whom the objects housed at the Smithsonian are all sacred relics of our ancient past and for whom their respectful and constructive use is a high priority.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Seneko Kakona ( Many Blessings) to you

    Miguel
