Hallo Bella,
I really hope you find the relatives you are looking for!
Family ties and patterns in the Caribbean seems to be a bit loose to me, and I believe this is due to the island life style. Most often it is the women who keeps the families together while the men travel around the islands - often in order to find work - and the women and children stay behind. And it is not uncommon that the men have different families in the different islands - which don't appeals to me.. I would not feel comfortable sharing my man! :-)
I believe the Caribs tend to be more rooted in the island/Dominica than the majority of the population.
How old is your son? I have two sons; aged 3 and 12, and a daughter of 10.
Have a nice weekend!

I don't know anybody from Dominica. I would love to meet some perhaps there are others on this network who can answer your questions concerning this topic.
Dominica's beauty is sharply contrasted against it's high poverty and crime. I hope that this changes soon. It seems to be a result of very corrupt government.
