Forest fires and the megadrought have plagued the northwest. For weeks the sky was covered in smoke, which helped us stay somewhat cool during the stretch of the summer heat. The smoke made it difficult to breathe.
Tonight, during the night of a blue moon, it poured and the earthy smell of geosmin filled the garden.
