I have felt very upset about this tragdy all of my life. Even in my childhood when I showed my inclination and interest in Indigenous things I was teased by some of my own relatives who refused to see the reality of our ethnicity plastered all over their own faces because of the brainwashing you just reffered to. Fortunately for me my own parents were always supportive of my desire to discover the Native heritage in our famly and because of that I was able to discover this wonderful thing of ours. Now since the beginning of the Resurgence Movement in the early 1990's I can share that sense of re-discovery with my brothers and sisters at home on the islands and here in the diaspora.

Trully native american peoople, very strong traits. ........... I am really surprise. Looking at you and your family and so many other that we have been brainwashed into belvie that taino are extinct. My god we are the tainos. just crazy. They really robed us blind. Not only of our gold, but of our culture, language, our identity. Man its just sad what was done to us. Even till this this you got people that look like the above not knowoing who they are in all three of our island. Sad my brother very sad.
