Profile Information

About Me:
I’m Puerto Rican. 3rd gen off the boat. Family moved from New York City few years before me. Landed in Jacksonville Florida in 1989 and popped me out. I never learned Spanish. Didn’t realize I wasn’t Jewish until almost 12.

As an adult trying to embrace everything that lead to me becoming alive, I tested my ancestry dna. I’ve attached the results image.

The indigenous ancestry runs through me literally. I didn’t know our history until becoming an adult. I’ve visited and something in me yearns to go back.

Reading into Taino history has been very rewarding. There’s still plenty to read from my own library but it’s exciting.

My intention is to learn everything there is to know about Taino cultural practices. With common sense, of course.

I think it’ll allow me to at least fractionally perceive the world as they did.
