I am interested in your research. I have also suspected contacts between Southerastern US indigenous groups and my own Taino ancestors but the evidence has never been very clear. At this point the original archeologicaI evidence supporting a Taino presence in south Florida with all that this would imply has been strongly attacked by most contemporary scholars and there arent many reputable researchers left anymore who will risk supporting this theory. I strongly believe that there was a Taino presence in South FLA and I believe that the Tekesta to a great extent represented that presence. I would love to hear a fresh perspective on this topic as well anything that might suggest a connection between south eastern Muskogeans and other neighboring people to Caribbean culture.
