Profile Information

About Me:
born Aotearoa (New Zealand)
Occupation:
educator/visual artist/textile designer
Education:
Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design with Distinction RMIT University Melbourne Australia.
Contact Information:
Monique deLaTour
Research Interests:
Researching and teaching myself about the indigenous presence on this island. Very little information available but I would like to share the items I am finding (and inspired by) where I live and the things I am learning. There is a direct Taino linguistic connection here from the words that have been saved. No linguistic connection to mainland North American tribes. I am an artist designer and try to raise consciousness of the past and show that it is present.
Publications:
art and photography exhibited and published worldwide - the link shows a solo exhibit I did a few years ago. Ancient Lines. See the first link please .
