These respected Taíno elders are powerful leaders in the Taíno Resurgence Movement, helping preserve, uplift, and expand Taíno culture, traditions, teachings, and identity throughout Greater Waterbury and beyond.
Under the 2026 theme “Boricua Taíno,” the celebration honors the resilience, wisdom, and living legacy of Indigenous ancestors while recognizing those who continue guiding the journey of Taíno reclamation.
As a proud Taíno elder, I hope everyone comes out, stands together, celebrates our heritage, and honors these remarkable leaders! 🌺🪶🇵🇷
