Event Description

Broken Ground: Unearthing the Tequesta Trail explores the ongoing dialectic around the preservation of archaeological remains as urban development continues to reveal a past that still remains to be defined.

Set against the backdrop of recent discoveries in downtown Miami that continue to reveal a massive Tequesta civilization that lies beneath this urban metropolis, the program calls into question the societal responsibilities to properly maintain the intrinsic value of these pre-Columbian cultures existing in the Americas for thousands of years.

That is awesome. How long were in the USAF? Please let me know if I'm asking too much. I served for 23yrs 9 months in the US Army. I was a Clinical Care Specialist. After I retired I went to Chiropractic college and earned Doctor of Chiropractic. My post graduate training was in Pediatrics. I was practice for 23yrs. I officially retired in 2024. I still due some consulting every once n a while. I miss my patients but not the long hours. I'm sure your patients look forward to have you treat them. My son's godfather , my best friend of 43yrs was diagnosed with Parkinson's. He was my right hand person in the ER. Anyway, it's been good talking to you. Taino-ti and Odabo(see you later in Yoruba). BTW,  am not African. I've been a priest of IFA for 13yrs. But, that's another story.

As do I  I was a Uniformed Service Officer in the DoD and I am not an MD.  I was awarded a Dr of Rehab Therapy w/USAF as a result of Clinical/Residency at the USAF Academy working with extremity loss and compound trauma: my depth and breadth of training involved PT/OT/Speech Therapy & now means I also work w/a good deal of Parkinson's clientele.

Taiguey Dr. Rene! I've been away at a retreat all week in Minnesota. As this is a film being shown at that theater location, there's no other medium engaged. However, it is under the rubric of PBS so it may soon be made available through libraries or even a future WLRN broadcast.  Jajom, Dr. Randy

P.S.- I add to the Tequesta narrative in this article:   Magnet Mounds of Sound | LinkedIn  (where I discuss the "sacbe" -- Yucatec Maya for "white road" that is evidenced in Florida too.
