Macro/micro and comparative approaches. Emphasis on interplay of politics and cultural formations in (post-/neo-/de-) colonial and modern Latin America, Caribbean, and Atlantic world. Particular interest in indigenous societies; borderlands; imperialism, nationalism, and revolution; Cold War; race, ethnicity, and creole indigeneity.
