December 21, 2024 from 3pm to 8pm – Ceremony Site
The behikes of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania congregation of the CANEY INDIGENOUS SPIRITUAL CIRCLE, Dayvanna Caraballo Mitchell-Schreiner and Miguel Sague led the September 19, 2021 celebration of the Full Moon and Autumn Equinox ceremony on the grounds of the Council Of Three Rivers American Indian Center. WE were blessed by the presence of a number of local residents to our gathering.
Our Maya sister Briana Rodriguez honored us by assuming the role of the Cosmic Matriarch AtaBey during both ceremonies.
The sacred dance of the Boa serpent was performed by the women of the group
Comment
It is an honor every time we lead ceremony. So much has been taken away from us, but on the flip side, so much has been passed down to us. We are part of a celebration that our ancestors took part in, celebration of spirit and our moments in time with each other. Our ancestors had such a great connection to spirit, one that I do not know if we have experienced yet, leaving in this type of world now. However, I do believe, when we are gathered in circle together we experience that moment as a gift. Remembering, what we take part in, was FORCEABLE ERASED FROM US at one time. We were forced to connect with spirit on an individual level in silence. Now, despite the obsessions, we gather to connect with spirit in a communal way. Why? Because my ancestors said so!! (laughing) prophecies state it, we dreamt it, we are living in it. Gather and create for the children and by the children. Blessings... Seneko Kakona!
