Deering Estate is hosting a two-day Cultural Resource Management Professional Development & Science Symposium
The symposium, entitled “Our Shared Sea – Coastal Archaeological Heritage in the Caribbean Basin” looks at the threat that climate change poses to coastal archaeological sites globally and emphasizes the urgent need for new strategies in public archaeology and cultural resource management.
The symposium will highlight how researchers and scientists address universal issues in their own research and global communities. This symposium invites professionals from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds to explore how coastal sites are essential for understanding human history and are particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts, including sea-level rise, ocean wave height variability, and changing weather patterns.
