    Takaji Dear Brother Miguel,

I am happy and honored to re-join the Board of Directors! Looking forward to sharing in the work again that we started many moon cycles ago!

    Bo Matun for asking me!

    Taino Ti,

    Bibi Tenanche

  • Miguel Sague Jr

I am so thrilled that you have honored our circle by accepting the invitation to again be a member of our governing body. I look forward to a meeting at the end of this month. Bo Matun sister!

  • Miguel Sague Jr

Please note that I am currently in the process of uploading unto the "pages" section of this group site the minutes of every meeting of this body which have taken place during its entire 32 years of existence. When I am finished every member of the board will have instant access to the minutes of any

of these meetings at the touch of a key-stroke.

  • Tenanche Semi-Ata Rose Golden

I have scanned the first seven documents of board minutes that you have uploaded so far. It is so impressive to see that you still have every single document saved over so many years! Equally impressive and fun is that, while reading the minutes, I fondly remember each of the people who were involved, who would also become friends at that time, and who played such an important role in the seminal manifestation of the Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle!

  • Tenanche Semi-Ata Rose Golden

Can't wait to see the rest of the documents - important information for sure, as well as a cool walk down memory lane for me!

  • Miguel Sague Jr

A huge jajom (Thank you) to the new members of the Council Of Nitainos. We are going to wait for a few more people who we are expecting to join here. Then we will set the date and time for the first meeting.

  • Miguel Sague Jr

Greetings My relatives and fellow members of the Council of Nitainos

As we complete the process of seating the new board I want to let you all know that within the next couple of days I will be analyzing all of the suggestions that I received from some of you for the best day of our next meeting and I will decide which day appears to be the most convenient to all of us. Also...very soon I will be posting here the agenda for the meeting. If you have some issue or topic  you wish to be included in the agenda I request that you submit it as soon as possible so that we can add it. I am posting this statement here in the comments wall of our group page but I will also be sending it in the form of a general message broadcast to the whole group so you are sure to receive it in your inbox. Please from now on check this page from time to time so you can stay on top of the situation concerning our Circle. Bo Matun Seneko kakona Miguel

    Takaji My Relatives

I am currently in the process of posting the set of attachments for our next meeting which will eventually become part of that meeting's official minutes. Please note that this list of attachments includes the Behike Bo Report, which is an important element of the meeting, since it includes all of the activities that the Caney Circle has been involved in since the last board meeting. Because our last board meeting took place four years ago there is an enormous amount of activity which the circle has carried out in that time hence the size of this document.

     There are 70 attachments.

You will find the this list of attachments to the minutes of the next meeting in the sidebar to the right of this site in the "Pages" section under the title "meeting #53" Or just click on the link below to access that page.

My Relatives, I am still waiting for a response here in the council site from several of our friends who assured us that they were prepared to be part of the board but have not yet actually joined the ICN network group. If you are one of the ones who has not yet joined the online group please click on this LINK and accept the invite I sent you or simply apply for approval into the group and I will take care of it right away. Do it as soon as possible so we can get on with the schedule. In the meantime we do have eight people who have signed up already and that is actually enough to have the meeting so I will present you all with three dates that have been offered by some of you. Please pick your choice from these dates so that we can move forward with the scheduling of the meeting. These are the dates suggested: 8:00 PM eastern standard time Thursday February 26, Friday February 27 or Saturday February 28.   Also, please sign in at the Caney Circle board network site and become acquainted with the important info that has been posted here so that when you attend the conference call meeting you will be totally informed. The agenda is ready for your review. Please check it out along with the reports and meeting minutes attachments of this upcoming meeting. Click this LINK for the agenda and related meeting info for this, the 53rd meeting of the CANEY CIRCLE Council Of Nitainos.    Make sure you submit your own ideas for agenda items so we can discuss the things that are on your own mind.

She is of Apache ancestry but has been a member of the Caney circle for well over 20 years and is an initiated behike of the Circle. Thanks Karmen for your invaluable contribution.

Takaji My Relatives...Fellow members of the Council of Nitainos (board of directors) of the CANEY INDIGENOUS SPIRITUAL CIRCLE. As you all know, the next meeting of this governing body of our circle is only three days away. I want to confirm a few last minute details of preparation in anticipation to that meeting:

First of all, as you already know the meeting is a telephone conference call. I will establish a group call via Skype and connect with all of you all at the same time by either contacting your land-line or cellular phones, or by accessing your Skype identity. That is your choice.

As I have indicated several times before, it is important that you access the agenda here in the Caney Circle board of directors' group page and review it so that you can come to the meeting prepared. It is advisable that you have a computer near you during the meeting logged into the Caney Circle board of directors web page in INDIGENOUS CARIBBEAN NETWORK so that we can all see and share and discuss various online documents in that webpage that are pertinent to this meeting. It is also very helpful if we are simultaneously connected via facebook in the group message that I created exclusively just for us twelve people. By being connected there we can easily share documents and any other items that may need to be shared with each other.

Again....I want to offer my most sincere thanks to all of you for generously offering to serve in this, arguably the oldest and longest established communal entity of the modern Taino Resurgence.

I want to express again my most sincere thanks to all of you for your participation in this virtual gathering and I look forward to working with each one of you in the future to bring to fruition the wonderful goals of our spiritual circle and to realize the spiritual dreams of our people and all people who adopt this path. Takaji My Relatives....From time to time the topic arises in regard to the legitimacy of an Indigenous spiritual organization organized in the way that this one is. WE have been criticized to the effect that traditional Indigenous spirituality is not organized in this way with a board of directors with a president a secretary and a treasurer. In fact this is just another absurd argument born of ignorance and malice. The truth is that Native Americans here in the United States have been organized as a bona fide  Federally recognized 501c3 status church for a very long time and continue that tradition with enthusiasm and sincerity rig ht into the twenty first century. Please explore this website published by the well-known NATIVE AMERICAN CHURCH, which operates in many states of this country. In this particular webpage they celebrate a recent meeting of their board of directors and the election of new officers. Our own board of directors, the COUNCIL OF NITAINOS is organized along the same lines as this one. Please click this LINK to visit the NAC website

Takaji My Relatives....It is February again and a year has passed since the last meeting of the Council Of Nitainos of the M.E.C.G. Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle. It is time to schedule this year's meeting. Please submit to me as soon as you can your preferred date from the ones listed bellow so that we can schedule our next meeting. I will soon be sending you the minutes of last year's meeting along with a full Behike Bo report which documents the activities of the Caney Circle since our last meeting. If you have been following our blog posts you pretty much have an idea already of what this document will contain but it is important that I submit it to you formally anyway. There will also be a brief financial report which will include the fact that we were successful in opening an new Caney Circle bank account. I am planning a meeting with our brother and fellow board member Chris Cibaboinael Hansen who will guide me through the difficult details of bookkeeping using Excel spreadsheet program to maintain accurate records of our Circle finances. We currently have at our disposal an excellent Excel template specifically designed for small churches which I downloaded for free from an awesome religious organization website operator. I plan to keep you all updated on those processes. Seneko Kakona Miguel

  • Miguel Sague Jr

Takaji My Relatives....Fellow board members Please note that the annual meeting of the COUNCIL OF NITAINOS of the Caney Circle is scheduled for this Sunday February 21 at 4:00 pm. I will soon be making a decision on whether to schedule it as a regular conference call, in which case I will be providing you with a telephone number that you can use to connect with the rest of us this sunday, or whether to use some other communication vehicle. I will be sending each one of you a copy of the minutes of last year's meeting and a copy of my annual report as chief behike of the circle. There are new exciting developments due to be discussed at this year's meeting so I am looking forward to chatting with all of you this coming Sunday. Seneko Kakona
