My brother! I was just sending you a message.. I actually did a semester-long research project on the lack of awareness and education among Cubans regarding their indigenous past. This is what I hope to continue researching as a graduate student. I am happy to have found this community.

Friend, that project is somewhere in an old computer, but I will look around for it. However, I would be happy to email you a copy of a paper discussing assimilation and acculturation.

Also, I have been chosen as Vice-President of the newly formed Global Indigenous Group at Florida International University. We are planning to have a big celebration on September 7. We are looking for performers, storytellers, vendors, crafts, etc. If you know of anyone, send them my way. I will announce it to the community when we have a few more details figured out!
