On December 21, 2025 the second Taino Solstice ceremony in Florida was celebrated. Two days after our Deltona celebration, we travelled to Miami and gathered with another group of our brothers and sisters in that region at the home of our brother, Tata Carlos to consecrate another celebration of the season. Our behike apprentice, Tony Jusino took the lead at this particular ceremony. The Radiant Sun Ritual, the Shark Dance and the ceremonial tying of the three-point cemi of Yokahu on the oval stone hoop were carried out. The act of attaching these two sacred objects together symbolizes the return of Yokahu's soul to the womb of his mother Atabey after having died back in September at the beginning of the Autumn harvest season. He will remain tied to the uterus-shaped hoop until his eventual rebirth in March of 2026. It was an experience filled with profound spiritually and joy.
