Agree. I've always looked at alcohol in this way, that it isn't our way, it's not a medicine that has its origins from here on Turtle Island. It's comes from the other side of the pond. It's not our way! This came to me long ago while meditating after participating in a lodge when I lived on the Fort Peck Reservation in Northeastern Montana in 1984-85. I've never looked back to ever partake of that medicine.

Fermented medicine is integral and very common among the sacred medicines of the Arawak Taino.
Like all medicine it has to be treated with the utmost respect and honor. The use of medicine is a granted permission; when entering that space the intent and prayer must be clear, true to the heart for a chance of positive outcome and receipt to the prayer seeking an answer. That is how it was thought to me by my elders.
