Takaji My Relatives

It is my honor to share with you the joy that it brought me this past Saturday Feb 11 2012 to welcome here at the Verona PA Teaching Lodge of the CANEY INDIGENOUS SPIRITUAL CIRCLE two members of the Taino Resurgence community, Inaru of the Bohio Atabey and Akichitai of the Yukayeke Taino of Pennsylvania. This brother and this sister are presently in training as beikes of the Caney Circle and it was my pleasure to share with them the traditions surrounding our guanara/kansi ways.

Our sister Inaru arrived on Friday evening and  our brother Akichitai arrived on Saturday morning. We spent all day in prayer and in sharings within the meditation room of the Caney Circle site next to my family home. After an afternoon of wood gathering in the wooded area that stands on my property we entered the guanara (a place apart) and experienced a wonderful sweat experience which was conducted in the Taino tradition of our Caney Circle

I am grateful to my brother Akichitai for his enthusiastic work of helping me with the cutting and gathering of the firewood. I found him incredibly handy with that chainsaw! He also exhibited great expertise and wisdom in the maintenance of the guatu (fire).

After the ceremony we all enjoyed wonderful food that my own wife Leni was kind enough to prepare for us and had it ready for us as we entered the house from the chilly outside cold soaked in sweat and steaming from the heat.

I want to send a great Bo Matun and Hahom to both Ina and Akichitai for a very pleasant visit and hope to be able to welcome them both into my home again soon.

Greetings Sister

Sorry it took me so long to respond I was off the ICN for a little while and could not respond to comments here, but i was able to resolve the problem.

Yes this was a wonderful experience for us all and we are progressing beautifully on the work of preparing new beikes in that area.

I feel blessed by the beautiful images that you often share with me and with the rest of us here in our forum but oftentimes I wonder if there is not more that you could add to our exchange beside just interesting images. I would so much love to actually hear your thoughts, your personal opinions, and especially when you post in a discussion such as this which is very specific and dealing with a specific subject it would be so much more of a blessing to actually hear what you think about the topic at hand more than just to post an image that you have acquired from somewhere on the internet.

Again I thank you for sharing these lovely images but I really would like to actually hear from you personally. I would love to hear from Iris... beside from MEDICINE MAN CREATIONS who is not a member of our network.

Seneko Kakona (Many Blessings)
