Caney Circle Participated in Schwartz Living Market Preview Party

Takaji (Greetings My Relatives

We of the CANEY INDIGENOUS SPIRITUAL CIRCLE participated yesterday July 5, 2012 in the Schwartz Living Market pre-opening event on Carson Street in the trendy South Side area of Pittsburgh, PA.

Our display table exhibited a sample of what we plan to feature permanently at this new sustainable-economy outlet beginning this coming September.

Among our Native and Indigenous-themed offerings were our beautiful line of hand-crafted Maya  weavings from our friends in Guatemala and our Cafe Press printed t-shirts and tote-bags emblazoned with gorgeous photographic images of our Maya relatives which I shot in Guatemala last year.

We also featured for the first time our complete line of natural-ingedient-made and cruelty-free body-care products offered by the Taino-owned NATIVE TOUCH company which is operated by our own tribal community brother Joseph Amahura (RiverWind) and his wife.

We were in great company since there a number of committed  merchants also represented there who seem determined to help make this wonderful experiment in alternative trade a success.

This is part of our ongoing fundraising efforts which will continue this summer at the outdoor festivals in upstate New York and Ohio as well as our participation in various Pow Wows and flea markets.

All funds raised through these efforts will go towards our collaborative efforts with the elders and spiritual leaders of the Maya Wukub Noj project in Guatemala, towards the conducting of our ceremonies and events here in the USA mainland and on the islands, and also towards the upkeep and maintenance of our main ceremonial site in Verona, Pennsylvania.
