My Full Moon Ceremony

For full moon ceremony I laid out a 4 foot by 4 foot length white sheet on a table. I prepared by bringing together the items that I will be using for ceremony. I made a circle of twenty eight stones. By the north part of the circle I laid down a smoky quartz crystal representing the moons energy. I also got the guamo, two candles, a feather smudging fan, copal and a cup of water. For the tobacco ceremony I used my own personal pipe. This pipe has been my personal pipe for some time…

Hot Moon Ceremony/July 2012

Takaji my Brothers & Sisters: This moon was a little unique as was last months Yoka Hu moon.  I am learning all about adaptability.

Our circle is a relatively small group.  This month we had a hospitalization, an out of town trip to family and another one of our members under the weather leaving the remainder of us to create a meaningful ceremony.

The White Cloth & Medicine Wheel were all laid out before arrival.  I had smudged myself earlier.  We went…

Wrote this today in honor of my great grandmother, Juana Torres, whose eyes sparked my desire to find my ancestral roots.

The Awakening  by  Isolina Gonzalez Rich

It all started with a Pow Wow

There, while watching all the dancers, something in me stirred

I felt like a puzzle piece that they were missing

And thus was the beginning of my journey

The passing of my grandma only helped to fuel the fire burning inside of me

Who was that woman looking back at me in the mirror?

Yes, I know, "I have my grandpa's brown eyes, and my popi's dark skin"

And yet, the question… Continue

Art is at the Heart

Takaji (Greetings) Relatives

After everything that has been said and done since the late philosopher-poet Jose Arguelles first brought the date of December 21, 2012 to the attention of the world back in 1986, what we are left with is simply his original message: "TIME IS NOT MONEY, TIME IS ART".

No matter what other communications and speculations may have partially clouded that original message; Cataclysmic Armageddon, Planet X, The Rapture, etc.…

The Ancestry Of Puerto Ricans

My latest discovery within my genealogy is the Legrand.

Jean Baptiste Legrand immigrated from New Orleans to Puerto Rico during the early 1800's when the Spanish royals had issued what was called Cedula de Gracia. My other grandfather, Jean Louis Ales also immigrated to Puerto Rico…
